Recruitment 2021 blows

Greek alum here - I’m sorry but with 1400 girls going through, the process this year was just disgusting and unfair. Tons of cuts made based on video alone. They should have divided round one into 2 days where all 12 houses were visited, 6 each day. Instead of even attempting to accommodate 1400 girls, round one was a bloodbath with too many quality girls slipping through the cracks without a chance to shine. Couldn’t they expand the quota sizes? Or at least extend the week so girls got a shot at an in person meet up? How do you “connect” with people after 2 meetings?
And what about releasing schedules just minutes before parties began? No time to process, arriving at parties with puffy eyes from crying. I guess times have changed. Unfortunately, like everything else, Greek life has become a slave to social media. I miss the old days with themes, skits & dances. ☹️

As an alum you should bring this up to Panhellenic. The answer is not larger pledge classes. We don’t want the mega sorority classes of the SEC where you never even know your own pledge class. Rush for 2020 was worse all online with huge cuts and everything based on looks for the top houses.
The answer is we need more sororities at UW. The chapters here are already too big. Some girls will never have a chance to live in a sorority house.

Agree it’s a stupid comment but why would it affect kappa at all? No one with an ounce of common sense would believe that comment, or any comments similar on this site, actually was made by a kappa, or any other house people try to do this stuff to.

Zeta is colonizing soon; there are going to be more chapters.
The process is still brutal, but if you were actually around for the days of "themes and skits," this is actually a massive improvement over how it used to be. Back then, it was standard for half or more the girls who started recruitment to either drop out or get cut before the end. Now it's down to less than a third.
