Random roommate selection

There are advantages and disadvantages to a random roommate.
It certainly is better than rooming with somebody you know in high school, which typically means you were hanging out with your old high school friends, and not meeting new people.
It is also much better if it helps you to make new friends.
But it is random, sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn’t.
But anything is better than rooming with somebody you already know. That is a recipe for no growth
