Someone please explain Kappa

Maybe it is just me, but I don’t get why Kappa is considered the “top” house. I have seen a lot of their girls and the don’t look all that special to me. They don’t look different than girls from any other house. I don’t see the difference between them and any other house. It is like they walk around thinking they are the queens of the school and everyone else just accepts it. WHY?!?! I don’t get it!

It is marketing, they are selling the same thing, but they are asking a higher price for it. It is only marketing, the product is the same.

Four years ago they were among the top houses on campus, but they had three years of poor recruiting, and now they dwell on the bottom.

Not a fun group to be around.

It is the house most girls start rush hoping to get. They have their pick of girls and they choose the best.

I went through rush 2 years ago. Kappa was my third choice and I ended up with my 2 favs at the end. I would have been okay there if dropped by Gphi and Aphi but found my home. I have Kappa friends that I love but to say that Kappa is every girl’s dream house is untrue.

I loved Kappa when I rushed and they were one of the two I pref’d. I decided on another house because it was a better fit for me, but I would have been happy at Kappa too. Kappa is a top sorority and my friends who are Kappas are pretty and fun. I don’t know about the recent pledge class but I do know they got a lot of the girls we were all watching during rush. They have a beautiful house, a solid history at Madison, and very pretty girls. I happen to think my house is #1, but I understand why other people would think it is Kappa. The OP doesn’t get the Kappa hype, but I honestly do.

During the day they are OK, but at night it’s all drama fights...

Not a studious group,
Not much STEM in this troop...

They will drink your beer,
Dating fools far and near..

Some will take your money,
And then they give their honey...

If boys don’t stay away,
These gals make them pay...

So what’s the lesson of this story,
Buy Taco Bell when you’re hungry...

Avoid this house if you can,
Eat more beans in UW land!!!!
