racism?

My friend rushed this fall and didn't get into any of the sorority and she believes she didn't because most sororities only picked all the white girls. Is there some low key racism within the picking system?

part of it is that there are hardly any minorities at UW compared to cities - UW is pretty white - If anything, some houses give extra consideration to minorities because of worrying that some people who are members of minorities might be scared off because so few white people go through rush

Sometimes people slip through the cracks too - bad luck with who you talked to in a house that was perfect for you, etc. UW rush is waaay too competitive right now. I hope she does it again in the fall. Don't be discouraged!

Good luck to your friend! They are adding another house in the fall and that should help the situation out too!
