Pledge classes are too big?
by: ThoughtsMaybe it is just me but I don’t think it is good for a sorority to be too big. A pledge class size around 60 is the max, more than that and it just doesn’t feel like there is a sisterhood. I don’t want to become like one of the southern college mega chapters. Given the large number of girls who rushed this year and so many who did not find a house, maybe there is room for a couple of new chapters at Madison. Has this been discussed? Are there any looking to start new chapters here?

Another good thing is a new chapter usually recruits a whole sorority which means even upperclassmen who might want to try Greek life before they graduate will have a chance. If someone from Panhel sees this out this on your agenda and see if AGD or another house is looking to expand in the Big Ten.

AGD would be great! I think since this is the second year in a row of a giant PC there would be an opportunity for expansion. But it is hard to be the new kid in town—takes many many years to build it back up. The good thing about AGD is that those 1980’s moms probably have daughters entering college right now so that could help.
