rushing as a junior

by: collegechica2

What is the likelihood of getting into a house such as KKG, Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma or Gamma Phi Beta as a junior? I really want to be in one of these houses! Help a girl out! Any tips would be appreciated!

honestly, no chance at all really. if you're going through as a junior you REALLY need to keep an open mind. why do you ONLY want those houses?

I have friends in those houses and they really love being in them, so I assumed so would I. Do you really think I have no chance at all? Is there any houses that would accept a junior? Is it worth it?

clearly not a PNM, but an a phi. NO ONE would group a phi with those houses ahead of axo, pi phi or chio. get a life. you're pathetic

Although I don't think the op is an Aphi, I do agree with you that Aphi is on this board waaaaaaaay too much trying to get people to associate them w/ Gphi, Kappa and DG.

They are NOT on the same level as GPB, KKG & DG. Or AXO or PBP for that matter

class. This just sounds so stupid, along with the comments that go with it. You sound like a bunch of 15 year olds who feel their popularity is threatened. The original poster was asking about those sororities because SHE HAS FRIENDS IN THEM and she probably would like to be in a sorority with one of her friends. She wasn't ranking them. You all sound desperate and I'm embarrassed my so-called "top tier" sorority was included in this conversation.

Let me just start out by saying that I like APhi---I don't think this conversation has anything to do with caring about tiers/rankings. I think it has more to do with people being sick of certain insecure girls in Alpha Phi that are on this board 24/7. It really is annoying. And as for the girl being friends with girls in the sororities listed, don't you think if that was really true or if this girl really existed (and wasn't a member of APhi), then why wouldn't she a) ask her friends about joining those sororities as a junior or b) already have rushed by her friends? The whole thing is weird.

i'll admit right now that I'm a junior in DG and yes, I do have friends in alpha phi. so you can think i'm biased all you want, but the truth is that aphi has become fairly competitive with even some of the top chapters on campus, especially the last two years. (i'm not saying that they're above GPhi or KKG or DG (yay) or anything like that.) any house that says otherwise is only in denial. they are far above chi o, theta, and every other "middle tier" house for a reason. the amount of effort that other chapters are putting forth in order to make aphi look bad is just getting super annoying...

hahaha, yeah okay because a top tier sorority would go out of their way to defend aphi? yeah okayyyy aphiiii....

Agreed. no one "outs" themselves on here...especially to come to the defense of another sorority

if she has friends in these houses then why would she come to an online forum for these questions? wouldn't logic tell you to ask your friends that are in these houses?

I am thinking she probably wanted some outside perspective instead of the people she knows in the sororities, so she can get a bigger picture. That is the only reason that I can come up with. My advice would be why not try?
