out of state disadvantage
by: soontobepnmHi Im going to be rushing in the fall, but I'm not from wisconsin or anywhere in the midwest region... is that going to put me at a disadvantage when trying to get a bid? i come from georgia, and i don't know any girls in any of the sororities. and plz don't tell me "ohhh be yourself they care about your personality" bc i know that a lot more goes into it than that. thank youu

Unfortunately, yes. Many houses lean toward midwestern only, and the ones who lean coastie tend to prefer LA/NY/NJ/DC/FL. Being from Georgia and not knowing any girls in the upper tier Midwestern frats recruitment will be an interesting process, but don't be discouraged! Just put your best self out there!

Just be yourself, trust the process and don't get your heart "set" on just one or even a few sororities. Luckily, all of the sororities here are pretty good and even if you get into one that you didn't have at the top of your list, you will end up meeting girls that you will really like and be friends with for a lifetime.

Thank u for replying!! Will they see where I am from and automatically decide they dont want me, or will I just have to be an extra "impressive" pnm compared to a midwesterner?
