scon vs coastie greek life

What's the difference? Is there a difference? Why do the "top tiers" tend to be heavily Scon/Midwestern? I've been noticing a definite divide between the two sides of Greek life, am I alone here or what's the deal?

Best scon frat- ksig
Best coast frat- sammy

No question. Just based on who's most relevant in different parts of the country. Talk to any kid from Chicago and any kid from the northeast they'll know both these 2 the most.

Best scon frat may be Ksig, but Sammy has no relevance outside of sheltered new yorkers. Aepi or Theta Chi could be considered best coastie frats, but both have their far share of midwestern/Chicago kids too.

You have a better chance at getting into a top house if you're from the coast...scons tend to have a negative college court connotation attached to them

This may be true for frats, but not for sororities. While there are the outlier coasties in Kappa, Gphi, or Aphi (DG is more mixed), the majority will end up in Chi O, SDT, or Aephi (maybe AXO if you want a more serious sorority experience). The others tend to be so Midwestern coastsies don't rush the houses.

So maybe not west coast, but if you are from the northeast and want to continue to be in that scene sammy is by far the best no question

Aepi is not just an east coast frat. They have a ton from the west coast and their last pc Was mostly LA kids
