rushing a sorority as a sophomore transfer?
by: plshelpI'm thinking of transferring to UW next fall and I was wondering if it'd be hard to get into a good sorority if I'm a sophomore transfer. Also, do you need to be in greek life to have fun/make friends or is greek life not a huge thing? Thanks so much! :)

don't judge any sororities on their rank here!!! i was totally against my sorority because of greek rank and didn't even consider it but it really was the best place for me even if it doesn't have the best rep on here. there are ppl in every sorority you'll like and fit in with

Pretty much all of the sororities are "good". If you are concerned about being in the "top" sorority you might be disappointed as a sophomore, but you definitely don't need Greek life to have fun at Wisconsin because there are so many clubs and events to get involved in and everyone is super social here. But if rushing is something you're interested in, definitely go for it! Get some recommendations if you can (not necessary, but will let them know about you ahead of time) and keep an open mind during rush. Each house is a total mix of all different types of girls. Some of the descriptions on this forum are perfect, but 50% of them are just people trying to elevate their house to the so called "upper tier", so I wouldn't trust most of what you read.
