They could ask 20-50 girls, and only have spots for 3-5. You still have to go to the COB event(s) and be on your A game and try and meet (and make a good impression upon) a lot of people.

All those invited were seen as desirable to that house during recruitment. They also need to know that you are genuinely interested in them.
