does gphi or kappa accept sophomore recruits or do they completely look past them? i guess this goes for every sorority. why do someone accept and some dont?

I know a sophomore who pref'd at kappa, gphi, and dg.

No one I know looks past a girl just because they are a sophomore. If you're pretty, dress nicely, have a cool personality, etc etc etc being a sophomore really doesn't matter that much at WI.
