recruitment

by:

So I'll be transferring to UW- Madison in the fall. I currently go to a community college so I'll be going in as a junior. I was just wondering how likely it is to join a sorority as a junior? I heard it's not very likely...but if some sororities do take juniors, which sororities? Thanks!!:)

Just be yourself and you'll get one. I assume kappa and Gphi probably won't since they are really competitive among freshman, I don't know of any juniors among DG AXO and alpha phi but I'm sure there are some. I know for sure a super cool junior in tridelt

There were two juniors in my pledge class last fall. Both really nice girls who got involved fast and made a lot of friends of all ages quickly. They also transferred to UW as juniors. i say go for it. The worst that happens is you see that Greek life isn't for you. The sororities you'll want to be in (because they like you and want you) won't care that you're a junior.

Honestly, go through recruitment! It's an experience and the houses who do not turn you down because of your age are the women who you will hopefully bond with/receive a bid from.

It will be easier than you think. Juniors don't count against house membership number limits so that helps prevent being categorically denied. Most people don't know this, but about 3/4 of the houses have tKen juniors. Part of the reason it does not happen more often is that most juniors are too intimidated b/c of their junior status. It sounds like you will get involved fast and get a lot out of it because you are new to Uw and do not have habits and routines that will keep you from taking part. I think your situation makes you very likely to get a bid even though you are a junior. Please don't be intimidated or discouraged, I think you sound like someone several house would definitely want.
