by: InterestedI'm trying to get a feel for how different Greek life is here compared to California( heavily looks dominated). I was wondering if someone could give a discriptive overview of the general personality of each house!!!

Go through recruitment and foremost your own opinions of the chapters. Be yourself and you'll find the best chapter for you. As much as this site wants you to believe there is a solid ranking, there isn't. What's best fire one person would be hated by another. You'll find your fit during recruitment. Just keep an open mind and don't listen to what other people say.

Kappa: pretty much every girl i know in it is rich, they are cliquey but their freshman pledge class, although less attractive than usual, seemed to be a lot nicer and more open to friends in other houses including other than Gphi. Lots of coastie girls and there are some legacies that stick out. I was shocked to go through their house on round 1 and have the girl tell me they hated recruitment and if they had the choice they wouldn't participate. I think if you want this house you have to be very attractive, share your experiences traveling (thats what they asked me about) and hope you've traveled somewhere cool
Gphi: Lots of beautiful girls. Freshman pledge class happens to have a lot of girls from Chicago suburbs and from my experience tend to be generally very nice and outgoing. I have had people tell me of bad experiences. I honestly think if you want this house you have to be semi attractive and come off as bubbly and outgoing
DG: I have less experience with them but they seem more passive and go with the flow. Really haven't heard much about them and I think if you're sweet and kind of more reserved this may be your best choice
AXO: By far a house with more... personality to say the least. I found them to be very sarcastic and not necessarily honest, but.. more open about their feelings about recruitment. They definitely spoke of the 5 bs that you aren't supposed to talk about during recruitment. My experience is that they tend to be louder, very outgoing, and

I agree with "Um". I have friends who ended up in so-called "top tier" houses because they thought that's what they "should want" during recruitment and really don't like it and feel like outsiders and pressured to be something they aren't. I also have friends who were cut from "top tier" houses right away and stuck it out through the end (keeping an open mind) and ended up in houses they never would have thought twice about initially and absolutely love the girls they've met in their house. Just be yourself, stick it out through the process, and you'll be surprised that everything works out.
