Most athletes have no clue and don't care about how the tier system works. If you wanna make friends with athletes, go do it. I'm in a bottom tier sorority and I've hung out and am friends with football players. Football players have come to and partied at bottom tier frats. It literally doesn't matter who "mixes" with athletes.
