Let's think about this now...
You rush again next year and you STILL get cut from the same houses YOU thought you fit with plus you get cut from the one(s) you still have now because you offended them this year by thinking you're better than them. The chapters know themselves better than you know them. If you really think you're better than some organizations, have fun being a GDI

There is actually a scientific method for how many girls each house get asked back for each phase of recruitment. It is based on recruitment history for each set. The number of girls each house can take or quota is usually decided taking the number of girls left over after the third party and dividing it by the number of houses. Not all houses will get quota because either they invited too few girls back and not enough accepted or people dropped their house.

Houses who have a good return rate--meaning most of the people that get asked back, accept...had to cut 1/2 the girls the first night. Others invite everyone back because they get cut by a high percentage of PNM. Yes, it doesn't feel good to join a less popular house, but I assure you it is more fun to be in than out.

Rush is shallow--first impressions and not clicking with the three girls they put you with for the first party, etc. is unfortunately how the decision is made. Sororities try to introduce people to as many girls as possible but you get people who do not follow the rules, etc. That is life. There are mistakes..many of them, but I am not sure what would be a better way with so many girls and so little time. Big greek system is not for everyone because the process is upsetting to so many.

Stick with it--especially if the chapter has a strong national and you like the girls. Networking for the future is important and sorority connections provide opportunities.

I had a horrible rush experience. I only got asked back to two houses I liked (dropped by both of my legacy houses!). I then got my second choice. I was devastated, but I went to bid day and it was great. These girls wanted me there. They really are my best friends now. If you think you deserve to be in a certain house or are too good for others, then yes, drop. There are a lot of girls who would love to join a sorority period. But if you want to join, stick with it and give it a chance. it usually works out. Good luck!

This year wasn't even close to the most competitive year of rush. Last year was by far. This year was nothing.
