sae charter revoked

I apologize. I was under the impression that nationals had chartered them the past few years and pulled their charter a few weeks ago. I heard that they have to leave their house after 1st semester and it is being leased out by their alumni board until they return. Maybe some of this information was inaccurate though, I am not sure.

SAE does not have University and/or IFC recognition, so they are considered a closed chapter. If they return probably for 2016-17 school year, they would need the approval of the University first and then apply for IFC recognition. I can tell you that IFC E-Board will want to see a detailed outline on how this new colony of SAE will be different compared to the original chapter and more inline with the policies of both IFC and University. Basically, we do not want to see another SAE train wreck like in the past.

Any prominent national organization that takes a stand against pledging/hazing/drinking will be more likely to pull a charter. They have enough chapters that closing one doesn't severely effect their ranks.
SigEp walks on pretty shaky ground, since they don't really align with the ideals of the "Balanced Man" program. Pike's national organization always has an eye on them. Last I checked, Phi Delt is supposed to be dry. AEPi has had a few run-ins with nationals in the past few years.
