Some frats, your dues covers everything while in others dues might not cover formal or semiformal. Usually bot tiers are around $500 to $700. Mid tier is from $700 to $1000 and top tier is $1000 to $1500. That's not to say a top tier can't be $700 and a bot tier can't be $1200. It also depends on the number of active brothers.

In addition some frats have a tier based dues where freshmen pay like $1000 per semester but then sophomore year it's $800 per semester. Junior year is $600 and senior year is $400. They do this as mostly underclassmen are involved in the fraternity so by lowering the dues over time, it encourages seniors to stick around the fraternity.
