you have to be strikingly beautiful and/or know people to make it Tier 1 as a sophomore. Tier 2 It's still rare but not as much. definitely do able. Tier 3 It is pretty common.

being in a sorority makes it safer to go places because you have sisters who are typically looking out for you rather than just the two friends you showed up with. Go where you fit in

i can say for sure than going to any thetaChi, pike or phiPsi mixer you will need to be watched if you want to keep your dignity. however this is the case at multiple frats. its really about having a good group of girls who are sticking together and not being a total slore (tridelt)
