recommendations?
by: LBSFor sororities, how many letters of recommendation are we supposed to have for each house? What if I do not know any alum from that house? I know it says not required but how much do these letters actually affect my chances of getting into the house I want? I don't know anyone in any of the houses because I am coming from out of state so I have no other connections in the houses and just want to be sure me not having connections gets me overlooked..

Try to meet girls in the house before rush starts and make a good impression and focus on them/not the guys ..flirt with girls someone told me. The girls are not supposed to talk to you though. References are ok, but lots of girls have them, so they are not really that much help. Even being a legacy is not even that helpful anymore.

Don't listen to those people they don't really know what they're talking about. I'm in a sorority so heres all you need to know
Here rush isn't like how it is in the south which is where i assume you're getting these worries from. recommendation letters are not required, and lots of girls don't have a single one! Sure, if you have a letter it will help, but definitely will not make or break you getting into a particular sorority or not!
also be aware that girls in the houses are limited in their ability to talk to you as a potential rushee, there are strict rules on how much contact they are allowed to have with you!
Hope this helps!
