what i wish i heard

based on a comment i saw on another post, I'm going to write what I wish someone would have told me when i was a freshman because it would've made everything way less stressful going into prefs.

If you're cool yourself, people in other chapters will still think you're cool. Same with any other quality you're worried about. Your face card outranks your letters especially if your personality/confidence can back it up. You don't need a chapter's rep if you're secure. If you're insecure, that's something you can grow from, and it helps to be around people who love you as a human being, not the superficial stuff.

Every chapter has its problems. A good PC that isn't mean to each other and works together to build good relationships with other chapters can lift a chapter and fix a lot of its problems for several years. They just need to maintain the momentum after that. But what matters most is that you're good to each other because otherwise it won't last and also other chapters will notice lol.
