Under the Maize and Blue Sky
by: poemforus
Beneath the maize and blue we stand,
With dreams as vast as this great land.
Different letters, different names,
Yet inside, we’re all the same.
Each heart beats with hope and fire,
Each soul longs to reach higher.
But why let hate cloud our view,
When sisterhood should guide us through?
Words that wound and spread disdain,
Leave nothing but a trail of pain.
This isn’t the way, it’s not the light,
Of Panhellenic bonds shining bright.
We are more than rumors, more than lies,
More than whispers that divide.
Every house, each sister here,
Deserves respect, deserves to cheer.
So let us rise, with love in hand,
United under Michigan’s stand.
For in the end, we’re all the same,
And kindness is the only game.
Let’s build a bridge where walls once stood,
And choose to spread what’s truly good.
Together, we can make it clear—
Hate has no home, not here.
