top tier sorority bid as a sophomore

Pretty difficult. People generally don't, unless you have a good reason for not getting into a top tier freshman year. Most sophomores who were accepted into top tiers not only have a lot of friends in those houses, they also generally had some sort of academic obligation that did not allow them the time to rush as freshman. Wouldn't bank on it.
