welcome at welcome week?

hiii incoming freshman girl here!
im super excited to rush and definitely want to be careful to avoid getting blacklisted- with second semester rush becoming the new norm i've heard freshman girls should NOT be seen at welcome week parties or they will be cut! is this true? i heard it from a reputable source but wanted to get others opinions.

Rush at UMich isnt like rush at Bama. The sororities here don’t care quite as much about image and pretending we don’t go to parties. Have a good time at welcome week and enjoy yourself, just don’t do anything crazy.

Keep in mind that sorority girls will be there! It’s a really good opportunity to make friends with them and to get the general vibe of each sorority.

it's totally ok to go to welcome week parties, you won't get cut umich for that
