What happened with A Sig?

Alpha Sigma Phi (Asig) was officially kicked from UMich campus in Fall 2018, after a pledge allegedly suffered a lower back injury from an initiation ritual involving a 40-yard dash where pledges got on all fours and brothers sprinted across their backs. Since then, they've operated underground/independently as a rogue fraternity, although not recognized by their nationals or the university IFC, and they continue to openly and brazenly display their letters on their still-occupied house in a surprisingly successful "screw you, establishment" gesture.

The Asig national website still has Asig Michigan as an affiliated house. They definitely aren’t with ifc though.

The reason their nationals still back them is because it wasn’t the back running thing they got caught for, they got caught/kicked off cuz someone’s psycho ex got into their group chat messages and reported some stuff they wrote in it. Which of course never should’ve gotten public in the first place
