What are ranks even based off of?

I see rankings with descriptions and it’ll be like
(ABC) — top, really bad sisterhood, party, had a scandal recently
(XYZ) — bottom, wonderful sisterhood, party, all very nice.
... i know all sororities mix with frats and that girls can basically go to any party they want regardless of sorority so like... why are ranks...? That just doesn’t make sense. What is the criteria?

How would it even be possible that every one is attractive/unattractive/whatever

As with any situation, the goldilocks zone lies in the middle tier. They don't have the toxicity and scandals of the "tops" (for the most part) but also have pretty much the same experience. Also a wide variety is seen here, some focus more on sisterhood and are chill while others go out more. Anyways just a thought
