cob questions answered
by: Panhel
So many people are asking about COB, so here is all the information that at least I can offer
A decent amount of houses tend to do COB, but almost none publicize it.
There may be a few houses that are under chapter total by less than 10 girls. Since so many people take interest in COB, these houses do not broadcast COB because they don't have enough slots to offer. These spots usually go to girls that are known by girls within the chapter.
For example, if a chapter like Zeta still needs 6 more girls, they will usually offer those 6 spots to PNM's that are already friends with other Zeta girls.
These 6 spots could also potentially go towards other girls who reach out to Panhel.
If you are a PNM who didn't rush, dropped rush, did not get offered a bid, or did not accept a bid, you can email panhel and inquire about possible COB opportunities. These will be pretty exclusive and low key as most chapters are not vocal about not meeting chapter quota. (This could be because of not getting a big enough PC, girls dropping from older PCs, etc.)
AOII is under quota by a more notable number, therefore they are pushing their COB events hard. They will be having COB events all week and that information can be found on their social media. If you really want to experience, give them a shot. They have a great house and great girls.
An alternative option is joining Kappa Delta, who will be recruiting for their colonizing class. Many people will compare them to AOII, but all of that depends on how their nationals behave and communicate compared to AOII.

tbh if you're looking for lowkey COB advice, you're not the type of person that is going to get a bid from the houses doing it anyway (i.e. no connections) so i wouldn't worry about it
