aaifc & ifc unbiased explanations
by: yw
Hi I’m a junior in a sorority here to give an ~unbiased~ definition of both the AAIFC and the IFC. Here we go...
IFC - this is the council that all of the frats have been apart of for many years (until this year where some frats left the ifc). these frats are affiliated by the university, which is a benefit as the students’s safety is protected by the university, but also a negative as these frats are subject to any university rules (like they can’t have fall rush next year). However, these frats are benefitted by the fact that sororities can ONLY have mixers and tailgates with affailiated frats. Basically, these frats are the overall less riskier option in a way since they are affiliated with um.
AAIFC - brand new. These frats decided to leave the ifc so they would no longer be subject to silly university rules. However, this leads to potentially more problems as these frats will have less rules and restrictions. Also, sororities are NOT allowed to go to mixers / tailgates at these frats (although some girls will go individually to these, but that is technically not allowed)
If it were me, I’d rush ifc frats, BUT I’d also rush AAIFC if it’s possible to do both. I can’t 100% say how well the AAIFC will work out, since it is brand new. But if you want to join a frat, you may as well try out all your options. Either way you’ll have fun and a very typical experience.

I think the fact that members of AAIFC have to take to this forum to try to argue that they’re an equal alternative just shows how wrong they are. They have no policies, which means they can haze, party, and do anything else without regulation. If they get caught up in trouble though the university will be no where to help them so good luck with that.

Kids--
The Social Environment Policy posted on the aaifc website is not a policy created by aaifc.
Does the aaifc endorse and commit to the same policy established by the document creator and owner (UofM IFC)?

looks like a sloppy cut and paste job, kids.
aaifc rush timing is guided by the ifc vp or by aaifc??
show us the names of the elected aaifc officers if you want us to understand who you are and how you really function.
this is from the aaifc website as of 805 am, Sept 12--are you taking direction from the ifc?:

So is that what you'll say in fall of 2019 when the AAIFC holds regular rush for freshman and IFC can't because they are controlled by UM? Tell me how the IFC is going to stop dirty rushing and uphold rules next fall when they can't do it now?
