There is no such thing as a true "merger." Mergers are takeovers of weak fraternities by stronger/higher ranked fraternities. DU is now Sig Ep without the name like Lambda is Phi Delt.

I was at their tailgate yesterday and it was still poppin well into halftime, doesn't feel like it's trending anywhere other than up

The merger with DU allows SigEp to rage as hard as they want with no oversight. They are better than ever because now they do not pretend to follow the rules. They have no rules to follow cause they can't be DUs on their roster for the national, so no one knows they exist. They are still in IFC but act rogue. This is genius.

^how can they be rogue and not part of du when they are at Du's house? even if they arent officially Du, they still go to events.

The Sig Eps in DU will recognize your legacy status in rush but you will have to go through a DU pledge education program and initiate in DU so the DU nationals will consider you a member. But the Sig Ep brothers will teach you all the key Sig Ep stuff to know so you can say you are a Sig Ep if you want to. Fraternity letters don't matter anymore in Greek life, the experience and friendships are the important things now.

You mean quit. Ironically, their merger house, DU, announced going dry about one month after they joined them.
