How important is gpa to sororities during rush? i will be a sophomore in the fall, and i have below a 3.0 :/ does that reduce my chances of getting a bid at a decent house?

It's not very important. The thing that would hurt you more is that you are a sophomore. Also if your GPA is that low I would seriously reconsider rushing. Greek life takes up a lot of time and your classes will only get harder. If you don't improve your grades going to this school won't give you a good return on your investment.

That's not that bad for UM, not great but doable, rushing might even help you have balance in your life plus the older sisters who have taken classes before you and can help.
