mergers are pointless

This is how mergers ALWAYS work.
-The guys you take in will almost always be from a frat much better than yours. They will want nothing to do with you when they come in. They will rush kids just like them, and they will know who the "cool" kids and the "goobers" of your frat are
-The new sororitys that you mix with will know as well. They will mostly associate with the new kids and will not give you a second thought. A lot of the original guys will realize this after about a year and won't bother coming to socials any more. Many will end up disaffiliating.
-The kids who merge with you and the new kids they rush will become their own clique until you are pushed out or graduate
Can anybody change my mind? I completely dont see the point to merging. You are throwing away your brotherhood for nothing,

Are you actually in DKE? If so, you guys literally mixed with pi phi and gamma phi before the merger. How can you say it was a bad thing? Even if youre off campus, you still have way better mixers than before

Not really true that SigEp national staff was being unfair with the chapter. When the chapter would not hold member accountable or raise standards, and when they refused assistance to enhance membership development and safety, the national Fraternity had no option but to act before there was a tragedy.
