sophomore rush

I didn't rush any fraternities this year and I'm regretting this decision. Is it worth rushing as a sophomore? I know most pledge classes are made up of freshman, would it be awkward as the only sophomore or are there there other sophomores that also rush. Also, how competitive is it to get a bid from a middle/lower tier? I heard fraternities aren't a big thing after sophomore year, is this true?
