ifc and panhel aren't the only orgs on campus

I know some of the lower houses like agd pick on the multicultural sororities because it makes them feel better so I get your frustration. However, as an African American I've noticed that anytime I talk to another girl in a multicultural sorority she judges me for being in a "mainstream sorority" and then proceeds into her rant about how ddd, alpha phi, axo and other houses don't have any blacks or hispanics. It's a vicious cyclical cycle. They would rather rush a multicultural than a mainstream house but then complain when the "mainstream" houses don't have diversity.

I agree but it goes both ways. In a lot of black families there are legacies to the Divine 9 (NPHC) houses and they are groomed from a very young age to join that legacy house or at least another D9. The networking seems to be an even bigger thing with the D9 than with Panhel houses, and getting bids seems to be harder (D9 members correct me if I'm wrong) so those with a D9 background may see it as more prestigious to join those, plus they do things like step shows and line names that Panhel houses don't do.

My gf is phi rho alpha and they are pretty diverse. they are not panhel or in any of the multi cultural counsels but they try to get diverse pledge classes, and all the ones i've met are really chill.
