"work hard play hard": true or not?

by: Hell Week

Ok so someone mentioned this on another thread and it got me curious, but is the "work hard play hard" aspect of Michigan really that true or no? Are the kids who party the hardest also the smartest kids? Because it seems like the really smart kids don't really go out and the kids who ball out (AEPi, DKE) are really just rich kids who don't have to work that hard but get set up because their dads all know people.

Haha no that was just to make a cool ImSchmacked video. Every freshman comes into Michigan thinking they are going to study 6 hours a day Monday-Thursday and then shut off and go super hard on the weekends but the human brain doesn't work like that lol. Some kid are just smart and don't need to study as much as you, don't sweat over it.

Nah, those Ross tryhards in Theta Chi may think they do, but it all comes down to Adderall, test banks, the Ross Curve, and dad's connections.

Most of the kids who go super hard and get good grades are either innate geniuses who don't need to study (there are a lot at Michigan) or good at cheating. There were a group of DKE kids in my Econ 102 class who would all sit at the back of the room, exchange test forms, and whisper to each other and they never got caught. I'm sure they're smart kids to begin with, but don't let the image fool you.
