rushing as a junior?

by: transfer

I'm transferring to UM for fall '13. Would the fact that I'm a junior hurt my chances of getting a bid to a house?

idk if youre a guy or a girl, but from a sorority perspective...

If you're in a house at the school that you're in right now and that house is at umich, you can transfer to the umich chapter if you file some paperwork. if you're not currently in a house, then unless you're looking to be in aephi or agd then i would forget about it. aephi i know is ALWAYS looking to fill spots, agd is not confirmed, but I have a feeling you could try to get a bid there. i have heard of skrappa taking a lot of sophomores during rush (not a ton but compared to other houses on campus they take a fair amount) but i honestly havent ever heard of someone getting a bid as a junior. it really depends on where you are looking to be a part of.

if you're a guy then my bad and just disregard all of this

there are plenty of houses who would accept you as a junior, smaller ones will give you a better chance

Definitely a disadvantage, but if you're a guy that fits in and want to go through the pledge process with guys two years your minor, some houses may disregard your age (I would imagine more likely the lower or smaller they are). Many sophomores get bids, and if you won't graduate for 3 years (super-senior), you're essentially on that same level. Good luck brother.
