fall rush

In the far past Michigan DID host Winter sorority recruitment, and small numbers of women ended up joining. Who wants to go traipsing house-to-house in snow? There were and still are many other campus groups from which to choose, and by Winter semester some women had committed to them over sororities.
If there is an overwhelming concern that Winter recruitment would be better for everyone, bring that concern to the panhellenic board and see what they think.
