sig ep
by: steelheadFor everyone saying Sig Ep no longer has pledging and is just a club, you have no idea what you're talking about. My roommate was a recent pledge, and let me tell you, they still have a very tough process. They are damn near top house so they need to make sure no average chump can get in. I assure you, they haze among the hardest along with DKE and Eagles. The whole balanced man thing is an act for nationals so that they can stay on campus. So to all of you spreading lies about how Sig Ep is not frat and just a club and has no brotherhood, you are clueless and need to shut your mouth. The pledging is almost a full semester, and very tough so that there IS a close brotherhood.

Sig Ep National's "Balanced Man" program creates unrealistic expectations. While most would agree that hazing is not ever acceptable...Eliminating the concept of "pledging" and being "immediate brothers" changes the responsibilities and dynamics of brotherhood and tradition .

As far as I'm concerned, this is more of a social club than an actual fraternity, especially since they got rid of their pledge process. Basically, if you get a bid and pay your dues, you're a brother. As a result of this, they have over 100 guys and they barely know each other. The only good thing about SigEp is their parties. They're able to throw a lot of parties because of their size and some are a big event for sororities. They're not a bad fraternity, but they're not a real one...
