What can I expect from hazing during UMich pledging? It is horrible, manageable or nonexistant?

Its definitely not fun. Somewhere between manageable and horrible if you're in a relevant frat and varies place to place. asig and theta chi are known to have the worst

The people that haze you are all really nice, especially if you go to a top frat. The worst I've had was when me and a pledgemaster fist bumped way too hard and it hurt my knucks.

Already posted this in another discussion thread but who cares how hard a pledging process is? By hard do you mean you get hazed more and have to slam massive amounts of alcohol? In this day and age, the idea of hazing is ridiculous -- not to mention will get your house and its decades of history kicked off campus in a hot minute. If a house likes a guy and think he fits well and will do great things for the fraternity, that should be enough. Have him go through the pledging process as set forth by the national office and initiate him if he gets through it. Enough of this bull crap for a guy to prove his worth by how much he drinks or parties.

So without going into too much detail is hazing just being forced to drink a lot? I'm asking a serious question here, what if a pledge is an alcoholic and can't drink?

You're not a pledge yet, why don't you rush a house that you like and if you get a bid you'll find out in the fall.
