no bid. what to do?

by:

I rushed some houses to see what was out there (AEPi, OX, Chi phi, Alpha sig) but I didn't get a single bid, or even an invite back to any other rush events. Before y'all start blasting me and calling me a weirdo and social reject, I can assure you that I did as good of a job as I could to talk to a lot of brothers at each house, and actually be sociable.

There are three options here: Join Psi U, take a late bid, or rush in the winter?

Whats's the best thing to do here?

Check out SigEp. Everyone gets a bid. You sign your name and pay the initiation fee and you're a full brother. If you don't like it after 30 days, you can ask for all of your money back.

Thanks for the advice, but I actually rushed there too and wasn't even invited back for any exclusive rush events. Just kinda got dropped. Ik that's pathetic so yeah

There's actually another option..

There will be a second round of rush starting Wednesday night for those that didn't find a fit the first time around. Highly suggest you make it to that mass meeting.

Any idea on what houses will be at second round fall rush? I didn't attend any open houses because of professional rush but would be down to check out second round rush if its legit

It is a lot of the smaller houses (that's not to say you shouldn't give them a chance, mine included)

The ones that I'm aware of who will be there are:

ZBT
Phi Sigma Kappa (Phi Sig)
Lambda Chi Alpha (LXA)
Triangle
Alpha Delta Phi (Shady)

If you can get a late bid somewhere go for it but otherwise have fun in the winter

Greek life isn't for everyone. You don't have to be a part of a fraternity to have status or friends on campus. I'm in a sorority here and most of my best friends I made from my hall freshman year, the clubs I did, and classes I took. Honestly, people sometimes find greeklife to be a necessary part of a college experience and it's not. Join some clubs, if you still feel the need to join a frat after a semester here, wait until the winter and try again....there's tons more frats for you to go try out that you did not include in your list.

Look, every sorority has hot girls. If your concern is "banging the hottest girls" it really doesn't matter what fraternity you end up in. On another note, looking to join a top tier fraternity only to meet girls isn't going to get you in. No matter what fraternity you end up in, brotherhood matters. Frats give bids to guys they can see themselves hanging out with. If you either act like you are better than a house or make clear that your only interest is meeting girls, you'll for sure get cut. My best advice to you would be to look into late rush with some of the smaller fraternities. See if you actually get along with the guys in the house and could see yourself hanging out with them regardless of whether girls are involved or not. If none of them are right for you, then go ahead and try winter rush with the larger houses.

Just went to the late rush thingy, checked out ADPhi, Zeta Psi, and Phi Sig. Not a lot of people were there, so idk about rushing. Are there other houses doing late rush that you know of? Or would winter rush be a better idea?

Shady (ADPhi) will be dead in a year.

Zeta Psi is a decent fraternity from my perspective. Arguably ranked the highest of the three listed (not to say that's high), but that's probably the most "traditional" experience.

Phi Sig is unique in that they're still new enough that they're sort of figuring things out, but at least have a decent social schedule. They just got their house back this semester.

I'd look into either of those if you're still interested in fall rush and don't want to compete with the masses in winter.
