sophomore rushing sororities

by:

someone told me that sororities have to give a bid to a certain amount of sophomores to reach a quota..is that true? does that mean there is a little better chance of getting a bid? honestly any advice to a sophomore rushing would be appreciated :)

there is definitely not a quota of sophomores they have to give a bid to. Some houses will actually not give bids to any sophomores simply because of that. Your best chance will be somewhere you already have friends and girls know you are cool and click well.

My best advice is to just not worry. Sign up for rush, be yourself, be open minded about every single chapter, and you will find your home. After prefs, if you write down every house you went to that night, you for sure will get a bid. And honestly, it doesn't matter if you get a bid from your least favorite house. Go to bid day anyway because rush doesn't give you the chance to truly know a chapter. I rushed as a sophomore and the sorority I'm in now was my second to last choice starting at mixers, and I love where I am now. You will end up in the best place for you.
