sorority recs

I'm transferring here this fall. Would it be relatively important to have recs? I'm from the north but at a southern schools where I here recs were basically required (didn't rush).

Recs are not that important here honestly. It may help the first day but not necessarily. It's better to know girls who are currently in the house.
