unhappy w prefs
by: idki really only had one house i liked on sisterhood day and i was dropped by them for today. i was so close to withdrawing after today but i had zero friends first semester and really can’t do that again. my last two houses are def considered “bottom tier” but i tried to keep an open mind because i know some old reputations can be inaccurate etc, however i still just didn’t feel at home at all at either house and can’t see myself fitting in or clicking with any of the girls i talked to or a lot of girls in line with me. the thought of putting on a happy face during bid day tomorrow is killing me. has anyone here gotten a bid and dropped before initiation, but still managed to make a few friends beforehand? idk just looking for some guidance bc i feel kind of horrible right now lol

I would suggest going to bid day with an open mind. You might actually really like it! While it seems like it matters what ranking ur sorority is, in reality it doesn’t matter at all. I’ve never heard anyone judge another person based on what sorority their in. That being said, if you don’t vibe, drop and maybe rush again.

It will all work out and you will make friends wherever you land. As personal as this process seems, it’s not. The process at Tulane is not the same as other universities and many great girls don’t end up where they envisioned a week ago. No reason to feel bad about yourself, it’s the system. Go with it and see what happens, you have nothing to lose.

I agree, go to bid day!! You can always drop the big and go back through recruitment if it's really not a fit. But also remember those two houses wanted you more than the others, which is why you came back on pref, and the ones that dropped you didn't see you as good a fit at their house as others/as you could be in another hous . Bid day is free food and a great way to meet people, and you'll have the chance to meet more sisters who you might even get along with! I hope it all works out :)
