new sorority
by: CuriousIs Tri Delta going to be the new sorority? Or, are they still trying to decide? That’s a great sorority nationally and very strong in the south, but it’s tough being the new sorority on campus.

adpi is a top sorority at a lot of southern state schools with huge Greek presence (UF, UGA, etc), and a solid middle at many other schools, yet they are still bottom here. national rep has little to do with the success of a chapter. most girls rush for one of these reasons: to make friends, have a place on campus, social status, meet frat boys, etc. while, yes, you’ll probably make friends joining a new chapter, it won’t be a cohesive group of girls that have a legacy on campus and decent frat relations like most of the other sororitys.

it takes a different type of girl to want to be a founding member of a new chapter, and honestly I don’t think that girl will fit into the “top tier” category. anyone that fits into that would just rush and hope for a top house

It doesn’t work like that. TriDelt is still bottom as newest sorority at Furman and it’s been years.
