I hope they don't get kicked off campus. Just so they can live in social Siberia for a few years.

I'm sure this is a very hard time for the sisters and we need to respect them. Can we not post about this? Imagine if this was going on in your sisterhood or brotherhood. The last thing you would need is people posting about it on the Internet. Please let's just be a little more considerate for other members of the Greek community.

I'm sorry if this sounds insensitive, but I couldn't really care less if this is a very hard time for the sisters - EXCEPT the most recent pledge class, who really are the victims. If you haze, if you treat people poorly, if you disrespect the campus and panhel, you deserve to get kicked off campus. People have an awful perception of greek life solely because of chapters like AEPhi. And again, with the exception of the most recent pledge class, ALL of them are guilty. Not actively participating in it doesn't excuse you. You knew it was happening, you didn't say anything, and now you don't get to complain. You know what else was probably a very hard time for the sisters? Getting hazed.

Let's also not forget that the reason the whole AEPhi scandal got exposed is because of sisters and former pledges telling the administration about the hazing. They WANTED their chapter closed down. Let's respect those girls who had the courage to step forward, and not the girls who turned on every other sorority on campus - accusing other sororities of "slander" instead of owning up to and focusing on their issues.

Also, this got escalated this week because new allegations were proven true. They got in trouble for this last year, didn't change a thing, and just kept breaking the rules. Fool me once, right?

I wonder when all of the fraternities that haze 5x harder than AEPhi did will finally have to "accept the consequences." The double standard is kind of ridiculous.

Ok, so a fraternity got kicked off last year for hazing, and a number of them are on probation. They've had to accept the consequences too. Stop trying to change the conversation, AEPhi.

It's not about who hazes harder than another organization. Hazing is hazing and it's absolutely intolerable. All hazing organizations should face consequences, but people need to speak up so the administration is fully aware of what is going on.

Fraternities get in trouble for this all the time. Honestly it's the sororities that always get the easy way out and get special treatment. I'm glad AU is starting to take action and hold you to the same standards they hold us to.

I'm sure your Rho Chis will explain this better when they meet with you tomorrow, but basically, the school issued a cease and desist to AEPhi, which means they have to stop all activities immediately. That means chapter meetings, recruitment, being Rho Chis, wearing letters, etc. No one really knows details of why yet, or what the next steps are going to be. They had been on campus probation and probation with their nationals for the past two semesters due to hazing last spring. So, this getting issued probably means that they're going to be formally removed, but that hasn't been announced yet.
