I didn't need quizzes to learn about my sisters. I got to know them by hanging out with them and actually becoming friends, not by having to apologize for not memorizing a slideshow on all their favorite foods. I bonded with my pledge class over cooking dinner and getting coffee, not by having to be somewhere at a certain time. So yes, you CAN have a real bonded sisterhood without forcing girls into another "class" and taking away time from their ACTUAL studies. Because a Greek organization is not another mandatory class, it is supposed to be a support network that loves you unconditionally, not because you passed some stupid series of tests. I am so very sorry you do not have sisterly love that I do. I truly am.

What I know about my chapter is that from day one, we were treated with respect, kindness and sisterhood - not called stupid, not treated like slaves, not forced to do dangerous or humiliating things just to make us "bond". We bonded because we all had the same values and cared about each other. My chapter took pride in teaching us our history by living our values, not by forcing us to learn it for a quiz. I'm genuinely sorry you didn't have the same experience I did, and that your definition of sisterhood and sorority is so far off base.
