so is AEPhi losing this year's pledge class? i don't think you're allowed to do sorority/fraternity things when school isn't in session (aka between the end of welcome week and the beginning of finals) and i haven't seen pics...

They lose them if they don't initiate by the last day of classes. So they most likely lost them unless they're all being very secretive and not proud to wear their letters...

their investigation is officially over, the pledge mom and president are still in student conduct hearings. the school decided to let them initiate because no matter what their punishment will be they did not deserve to get kicked off campus for not initiating on time. that is why the school let them initiate - each organization HAS to initiate a pledge class before classes end and no matter what the results of this investigation are, they didnt deserve trouble because of something completely unrelated

thanks for this! i don't think anyone wanted the whole chapter to get kicked off and you're right that it's not fair for the class to not be initiated on the basis of the rest of the chapter's behavior.
hopefully, those responsible for the hazing will get a fitting punishment

no problem! i am not an aephi, but one of my best friends has a girlfriend in it. they're handling the issues and hopefully they've learned their lesson and will improve for next year.

I know I'm a heartless person, but I don't want them kicked off just because it will be way more fun to watch them flounder at the absolute bottom for a few years. Getting kicked off is almost too easy- sanction the crap out of them and watch them try to take a decent pledge class for the next four years. Their egos were long overdue for a reality check.
