wtf chi o

In class I overheard a Chi O pledge, while wearing apparel, defend hazing by saying 'it's not really Greek life if they don't make you do stuff'
WTF AU. This is not okay. How are these girls still on campus? This behavior is disgusting and everyone knows they do it, but no one has taken any action to stop them. Panhel and the administration really need to step it up.

Same thing with AEPhi. Their hazing has been documented and reported at least ten times, but the administration and Panhel has done absolutely nothing. What's the point of having "anonymous reporting forms" and a "zero tolerance policy" if nothing's going to come out of it?

everyone needs to stop freaking out about the word hazing. just because a sorority has mandatory things they make the new members do doesn't mean they are necessarily bad or even really hazing. the whole pledging process has become so watered down and "optional" because organizations keep reporting each other for hazing.

that's really discouraging to hear. it sounds like we as a community need to take a more public and vocal stance against this kind of behavior. but i can see that getting messy because people don't want to feel like they're throwing each other under the bus....
