AU Stereotype/Northwest DC

The number one thing that makes you popular at AU is money. AU is the the GW of Spring Valley/Northwest DC. The stereotype is rich white kids and rich international kids who are spoiled and privileged. Unlike Public Colleges who party at their frat houses, AU Fraternities rent out clubs for their parties. A lot of these kids pay full tuition.

So what if American University has a rich kid reputation. Money is what improves its reputation and builds new buildings. It’s called fundraising and making it a best-in-class brand.

So what if AU students reserve a table with bottle service of premium vodka and champagne in the city. The cost of excellence is expensive. AU is a giant party school with a bunch of rich kids. Our tuition is high — so what. This is building out AU.

it’s not at all like those other schools. it has a mediocre education, poor administration and rich kids who think their problems are the worst in the world. it’s delulu to think that american is anything other than a hub for nepo babies to fight over who’s richer. it’s not renown and most of the significantly alumni have been in prison.

Wealth should not be penalized; in fact, it should improve the institution. American University is just like George Washington University — it attracts wealthy kids from NJ, NY, and CA. Clubbing in NYC on the Weekends should be a good thing
