DG girls been real quiet

by:

In DG’s fairness I don’t follow all of the sisters but I haven’t seen a single post from any of the girls that I do follow regarding everything going on...why are y’all being silent? Thought you were better than that. I follow girls in every org and I’ve seen them all post resources, information, donations, etc except for DG

I’ve seen a lot. Maybe you should just make more friends in dg and follow them

there's a subgroup of girls who have been quiet (and that's on them, there's no excuse for that) but I follow most of the chapter and many of them have been VERY vocal.....from what I've seen there have been girls in DG who have fundraised to supply protestors w/ masks, first aid kits etc., protested, fundraised etc.

not that they deserve a special pat on the back or anything like that but I think this is a reach. I'm sure people won't like this bc this site is fueled by tearing others down but why don't we focus on our own actions/what WE can do as individuals instead of chastising others? if you're worried about criticizing sororities during a time of national (if not international) unrest, then you're focused on the wrong things.

Just besides this point, there’s plenty of people that donate and protest that are not as vocal on social media, I get that the one of the cruxes of the movement now is to end silence, but if we’re really measuring how people are contributing with “who posts more on instagram” (which btw doesn’t make you an ally, it’s not a point system) I think some people need to take a break from their phones and worry about how they’re contributing instead of calling out others, because they honestly have no idea how others are doing their part. Make the argument that they probably put more into just random social media posts, can’t really attest to that cuz I don’t keep track, but targeting whole orgs for what people speculate as “not speaking up” isn’t productive. Donate, protest, sign petitions, make your own voice heard, promote voices in the movement that can articulate struggles and inspire others. Trying to accuse an org of not being allies when you have no idea what they’re doing seems unnecessary.
