sophomore rushing this fall
by: sororityi just started my sophomore year and i'm considering rushing a sorority this fall. i didn't do it my freshman year because i wasn't around for the first two days that weekend, and i kind of regret it since obviously not every sorority does fall rush. do you think it's worth it to rush or should i do it with the freshmen in the spring? also, would it be bad for my reputation if i went with chi o?

Yes. It sounds so blunt but if you were to go chi o, it would be bad for your rep. However, I’d Go with fall rush. I did that last year and it gave me time as a sophomore and it gave me more time to bond with my sorority because the spring new member process is kinda crazy. Saved me the stress of recruitment really. Almost every org but AXO, DG I think this year are doing fall rush, so your options aren’t that limited.

Hopefully you see this before it goes away but they were caught and punished for doing blow or blow (forced to do c o k e or blow a dude) and have been doing as bad or worse things for pretty much their entire time at AU (20+ years)

yes, you would be judged if you go chi o especially as a sophomore knowing their hazing practices. Last year AXO, SDT, PhiMu, and AEPhi all did fall rush. don't know who other than chi o is doing it this fall since they got the other sororitys banned from recruiting (so they'd have an edge) but probably a similar group to last year. There's 0 commitment with fall rush, you can show up and decide it's not for you so may as well meet some new people.

When are the other sororities recruiting in the fall? I know chi o is recruiting right now, but I want to rush other sororities.

I there's about a week to ten days before sororitys other than chi o can tell you about their events! Panhel social media will probably give an update once regular fall recruiting starts.

thanks so much, i really appreciate it! i'm gonna go with fall rush, i like the idea of a more relaxed process anyway.
