greek life predictions

by:

I'm curious to see what everyone thinks is in store for the Greek community at AU this year.

Will Pike and AEPhi rebound?
What will Alpha Tau Omega look like?
Will Sigma Kappa displace AXiD?
With so many fraternities on campus, will any of them finally collapse and shut down entirely?
Where do the newer fraternities (Lambda, Beta, ZBT, SAE) stand?

IFC and Panhellenic get in trouble for no reason and the administration who are in charge of Greek Life put everyone on probation and enforce more BS rules that further damage the already dwindling Greek Life scene at American :)

I definitely think we will lose at least one frat during this school year. I also think its crazy that another is coming to campus

Calling it now: either Pi Kapp or SAE are going to die out this year.

are you high? sae took one of the biggest pledge classes last year and has a pretty consistent recruiting base through rugby. they're not great, but they're definitely not the worst. pi kapp for sure, and lambda probably (if they still exist not totally sure tbh)

Sorry but SAE is still really low in terms of numbers. Many of their guys are about to graduate. They need to pick it up if they're to survive.

But I do agree with the Pi Kapp / Lambda thoughts. They're on the verge of dying.

You people clearly dont know pi kapp they took a huge class this semester and are actually growing not decreasing. If you are going to say something make sure you know its true.

Sorry sorority but I have to agree with the other people posting here. You're not wrong -- Pi Kapp did take a pretty good sized fall pledge class. Unfortunately that does not really help them because they are still really low in numbers.

Compared to other Frats 30 something people is not bad so I don't know why you saying they are small.

Its not like they are lambda and have like low 20s in terms of amount of people

The difference though is that a significant portion of Pi Kapp's are graduating and they aren't getting enough guys fast enough to make up the difference. That's key.

Yea but to say that they are going to not be here is a huge stretch even with lets so 15 people grad which is what it is since ik some of them they got about 8 for fall and lets say they get 11 thats keeps them about where they are so

Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity
Meeting of the National Board of Directors
April 8 and 9, 2016

Substance-Free Housing

Foundation President Hammond provided a report from the North American Interfraternity Council’s (NIC) Alcohol Commission. The Board discussed the report and how substance-free policy would best be implemented and enforced. Warren confirmed that discussions will continue and a suggested plan of action for fraternity-wide substance-free facilities adoption and budget implications will be presented at the fall meeting.
